Sea water desalination

Sea water desalination plants are typical for regions where fresh water is rare. In the Middle East for example, more and more attempts are being made to turn undrinkable salt water into drinking water. To do so, sea water desalination plants are built, usually in combination with power stations. This is the most economical way of meeting the high demand for power and water at the same time.

As desalination consumes considerable amounts of energy, extensive thermal insulation is required on appliances and piping. KAEFER Abu Dhabi has specialised in this kind of work and has already worked on insulating many important plants in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. We have also taken care of noise protection, scaffolding, the delivery and installation of fire-protection walls as well as coating and surface work.
